FULL PROPERTY RESTORATION

PROJECT OVERVIEW

A shoreline home of more than two decades, heavily exposed to salt water and the full weight of the New England coastal environment. The homeowner requested an annual plan of care to keep the property in excellent condition year after year.

Initial work included complete exterior cleaning across the roof, body, trim, and decks, with thorough removal of salt, sea spray, algae, mildew, and lichen to halt deterioration and extend the life of each surface. A full reroof of the third floor was required due to wear and prolonged exposure. All exterior doors were removed and replaced. Decks were washed, sanded, and oiled to restore both appearance and protection.

The roof was sealed with two coats of acrylic sealant with integrated mildewcide to protect against future buildup. Substrate preparation and targeted repair followed throughout the exterior. A protective clear coat with integrated mildewcide was applied to the cedar body of the home, preserving the natural character of the wood while providing long-term protection against the coastal environment. A high-grade polymer acrylic finish with mildewcide was applied to all trim. Each product was selected specifically for performance in demanding coastal conditions.

Cedar shingles throughout the exterior are washed and sealed on a continuing bi-annual schedule, with targeted replacement of individual shingles as conditions require.

"John and his team are spectacular. They are talented, meticulous and take tremendous pride in doing the best possible work. And, they are very nice people.

They took on a tremendously complex exterior project at our home this past summer (2022) and exceeded all hopes and dreams we had regarding the results. Quality people and quality work.

"They are a joy to work with and will use them for any and all painting and restoration work."
